HDR_nature
HDR⎽nature marks a new development in Yoshinori Mizutani’s ongoing exploration of the unseen territories within the natural world. Building on earlier series such as Tokyo Parrots and Yusurika, where he transformed everyday subjects into vibrant, almost otherworldly phenomena, Mizutani now employs HDR technology as a tool for expanding the visual possibilities of photography.
By merging multiple exposures and deliberately moving the camera during shooting, he pushes algorithmic processes to their limits. Familiar natural forms dissolve into iridescent, multi-layered structures in which light, colour and contour appear in constant flux. The resulting images shift between documentation and abstraction, forming hybrid landscapes that resist stable interpretation.
HDR⎽nature invites viewers to experience nature as a dynamic and ever-changing environment, a contemporary phantasmagoria shaped at the intersection of perception, technology and chance.
