Geboren 1979 in Tokyo, Japan.
Lebt und arbeitet zur Zeit in Wien.
Taguchi schloss 2003 die Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music mit einem BFA ab und erhielt im Rahmen der Abschlussausstellung den Purchase Prize der Universität. Im selben Jahr erhielt sie den Ohashi Memorial Prize der Universität und wurde für ein Holbein Stipendium ausgewählt. Kürzlich erhielt sie ein weiteres Stipendium von der Agentur für kulturelle Beziehungen und des Programms für Auslandsstudien in Wien. 2008 gewann sie den Namura Priza und 2010 den Gotoh Memorial Prize Foundation Newcomer’s prize of art. Zu ihren bedeutenden Einzelausstellungen zählen ‚It is as it is’ bei ShugoArts in 2009 und ’Half in Gray’ bei void + im selben Jahr. Taguchi erhielt viel Beachtung durch die Gruppenausstellungen 'Chaosmos '05 - Unreal Reality’ im Sakura City Museum of Art, 2005, ’Trace Elements’, welche in der Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery 2008 und dem Performance Space, Sydney 2008 zu sehen war, ’somewhere between me and this world - Japanese contemporary photography’ im Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography 2012 und ’sleeping Beauty’ gezeigt im Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art in Hiroshima 2014.
Durch ihre Fähigkeit die Grenzen zwischen Photographie und Malerie verschwimmem zu lassen, zog Taguchi internationale Aufmerksamkeit auf sich. Ihre Arbeit besteht darin monochrome Acrylmalerei anzufertigen, welche dann durch das Abphotographieren zu einem fertigen Bild werden. Dieser Prozess wurde auch als ’der Alchemie gleichkommende Methode, welche Malerei und Photographie manipuliert’ (engl. original Zitat "an alchemy-like manner that manipulates painting and photography", Kyoji Maeda, 17 Feb, 2006, Abendausgabe, Yomiuri Shimbun) bezeichnet. Das Ergebnis sorgt für eine Entrücktheit, welche zentral für Taguchis Arbeiten ist.
