"Meiner Meinung nach sollte Gegenwartsfotografie auf konzeptuellen
Gedanken basieren und der Kreation verpflichtet sein. Um die Fotografie
zum Lebensziel zu machen, dafür braucht es Stärke und Enthusiasmus. Die
Meinung dass Bilder eines jeden Alltags, wie die seines Hundes, der
Freundin, und Ähnliches, kreativem Ausdruck gleichstehen, wäre zu
anspruchslos. Um die „Macht der Fotografie“ richtig hervorzuheben ist –
in jedem Zeitalter und jeder Situation – tiefe Passion zentral, und die
Fähigkeit eines Fotografen ein Konzept visualisieren zu können. "

Zum Künstler
Geboren 1963 in Wakayama, Japan. Lebt und arbeitet zur Zeit in Tokyo.
Risaku Suzuki ist bekannt für seine dezidierten Serien, die Szenen aus Kumano, Wakayama Präfektur, bebildern, eine von Japans heiligsten Ortschaften sowie die Heimat von Suzuki. Einer von Japans prominentesten Fotografen präsentiert Suzuki unverkennbar japanische Sujets – wie Kirschblüten und Schnee – die zugleich zeitlos und erfrischend neu sind.
